I can’t believe it’s day six already. Where has this week gone? Six days of no animal products. Looking back, I thought that I would have given into temptation by now, but temptation hasn’t even reared its head. I’m eating to gain nutrients rather than eating for leisure, which means no cravings as I’m giving my body exactly what it needs. I watched a presentation on veganism tonight by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau. She is an engaging speaker and makes a lot of sense. We can get all our nutrients from plants. Why drink milk for calcium when we can get this calcium straight from the leafy green vegetable source that gave the cow the calcium in the first place?! If you are thinking of reducing the amount of animal products you consume, I recommend looking her up on YouTube!
Breakfast: The green smoothie is back!! There’s really not much more I can say about my usual breakfast than I haven’t already.
What’s in my smoothie today?
Handful of spinach
Handful of frozen blueberries
1 tbsp milled hemp
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp spirulina
Chilled Green Tea
Lunch/Dinner: I forgot to take a picture of my next meal as I was feeling sick with hunger and was getting incredibly irritated. Hands up who else gets hangry?! My body is not used to going 7 hours without food!! It was a very busy day at work and I devoured my lunchbox meal as soon as I had the chance. In my lunchbox today was roasted aubergine and spiced cauliflower pieces, followed by two oranges and a few dates to keep up my energy.
Snack: I was a little hungry when I got home about 10pm as I had skipped a meal. It’s a Saturday night, so what else would I make but guacamole! So creamy. So healthy. So good even though it tastes so naughty 🙂
