Monday has suddenly turned into Happy Days Round Up Day. I honestly can’t think of a better way to start the week than taking a quick look back at what made last week wonderful. Shall we?
Day Sixty-Seven. Monday, 31st March. You know when you are craving something salty but don’t want to devour an entire sharing bag of <insert favourite flavour and brand of crisps here>. Homemade spicy courgette (aka zucchini) chips were my solution last Monday. This was a first for me, but I was inspired to make these slices of veggie goodness after inhaling a copious amount of beetroot chips at work the previous day. Who says healthy can’t taste good?!
Day Sixty-Eight. Tuesday, 1st April. I started Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred today. I quickly learned that all upper body strength that I once had has long since disappeared. I can’t do a push up to save my life! Never fear, the motivation was there and I was feeling great after my first intensive 20 minute session.
Day Sixty-Nine. Wednesday, 2nd April. After an early morning workout (30 Day Shred Day Two!), I treated myself to a yummy green juice to reenergise. A mix of spinach, courgette, apple, lime, mint and ginger, this is probably my favourite juice I have ever made. My second is beetroot, apple and blackberries!
Day Seventy. Thursday, 3rd April. Lots of food and drink related happy moments this week. I tried the vanilla chai tea from Pukka for the first time. This tea is warmth, love and happiness embodied. I spent the afternoon drinking tea while catching up on all my favourite blogs. Bliss.
Day Seventy-One. Friday, 4th April. I was off work on Friday and Saturday so I decided to visit my family. I haven’t been ‘home’ since I moved into a new house in January so this visit was well overdue. There is a certain contentment that comes with sleeping in your childhood bed. Out of all the beds I have ever called my own (and there have been many) my bed at home will always be the most comfortable, the most cosy, the most amazing bed in the history of beds. It definitely didn’t feel this good to sleep when I still lived with my parents! After a fun evening of family bonding, I hopped into bed with my giant stuffed god Maxi and made some lists for the weekend – thumbs up if you like making lists too 🙂
Day Seventy-Two. Saturday, 5th April. They say a picture says a thousand words. What does this picture of a giant rabbit reading a paper in the library of a five star hotel say to you?! 😉 Even just thinking about this recent event has me laughing again! Just your average day at work 🙂
Day Seventy-Three. Sunday, 6th April. It’s good to look at something from a different perspective every now and again. There are things that everyone takes for granted in their every day life; things that you may not appreciate all the time but at the end of the day, you are lucky to have in your life. One aspect of my job that I enjoy is seeing things through other people’s eyes, especially for the first time. Last night, I was almost finished work when I found myself looking at my surroundings from a different angle. It reminded me to be thankful for what you have as sometimes you don’t appreciate it’s worth until it’s gone.
Until the next time,
