Time for a short and sweet Happy Days Round-up…

Day Sixty. Monday, 24th March. There’s nothing better then a stroll on a dry, crisp evening to relax you and clear your head. Yes, it was dark. No, it wasn’t very late. Yes, I had my earphones in and music on. No, the volume wasn’t loud. Yes, I arrived home safely. No, I did not heed any of the worried comments you people left me on instagram! But I thank you all for your concern for my safety 😛

Day Sixty-One. Tuesday, 25th March. A friend and I escaped to a beautiful five star hotel Killarney for the night. Nothing says welcome to Kerry like complimentary wine and chocolates in our room. The chocolates we ate straight away; the wine we are saving for another night 🙂

Day Sixty-Two. Wednesday, 26th March. My bedtime reading tonight was the Irish language supplement in the newspaper. I felt like I hadn’t been mentally stimulated enough that day and my brain was craving a bit of exercise  – I’m a bit of a nerd like that – So Ar Feabhas (translation: brilliant/great/excellent) was my reading material of choice! I haven’t read more than a page or two of Irish since I was in school, but I was pleasantly surprised that I could understand every single word! Bhí sé go hiontach ar fad 🙂

Day Sixty-Three. Thursday, 27th March. If there ever was a need of a sign that I should remain calm and focused, this was it. A busy schedule + lack of time + daunting appointment the following day = slightly stressed Char. But it’s ok because apparently Motivation and Success follows me 😛

Day Sixty-Four. Friday, 28th March. The previous night I set my alarm for a 5.30am start. Or so I thought. I sleep with my blinds open in the spring and summer as I like to be woken by the natural light. I have never been more thankful for this habit of mine when I realised that it was 6.15am and I had to catch the 7am train to Dublin!! No time for coffee, let alone breakfast, I rushed out of the house without popping my head into the kitchen. Fast forward 14 hours later, I arrived back home after a mentally exhausting day and saw this lovely sign from my friends on the refrigerator. Fridge notes are the best kind of notes ❤

Day Sixty-Five. Saturday, 29th March. I get told several times a day how I always have a smile on my face and tend to spread happiness. If I know it’s going to be a busy night, I usually write something ‘happy’ on the staff board in one of the restaurants for a little motivation. One night it was ‘Smile Like You Mean It :)’ (which resulted in everybody humming a certain song by The Killers), Saturday night it was this! I overheard someone comment ‘you know Charlene is working when….’ But everyone smiled when they saw it so my job here is done!

Day Sixty-Six. Sunday, 30th March. It was Mother’s Day in Ireland & the UK. I spent the day looking after other people’s mothers with hardly a chance to speak to my own – I sent a very quick, but loving, text and that was pretty much it. Mum, I promise to spoil you at the weekend when I will finally get a chance to go home for a visit! I truly appreciate everything this amazing woman has done for me. She is my trusted advisor, and I probably share more than a daughter should with her at times, but she is one of my best friends and I couldn’t live without her. I love you Mum. See you Friday for the chats and the lols 😉

Until the next time,

Charlene

xoxo
