Over the last couple of weeks, the hashtag #100happydays has been popping up all over my social media accounts. Friends on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook have been proudly snapping and documenting their little happy moments each day. The idea behind it is to get people to appreciate the little things, live in the moment and to boost general happiness. I’m not going to lie, I do love me a bitta Instagram, so when one of my besties mentioned that she was starting this challenge and wanted to do it with me, I jumped at the chance.
According to the official website, 71% of people fail to get through the 14 weeks ‘quoting lack of time for the main reason’. Lack of time to recognise what makes you happy? Absolutely ridiculous! So starting tomorrow, I’ve decided to document my 100 Happy Days by posting daily on Instagram and Twitter. I have full confidence that I’ll have plenty of time to capture my happy moments in a photo, but work and my many social engagements (!!!) may often get in the way of blogging. Carpe diem. Seize the Day. YOLO! Whatever you want to call it! I’d rather live in and enjoy the moment than be rushing off to blog about it that very same day. Therefore, I won’t promise a blog every day, but I do pledge an update every 2-3 days 🙂
If you’d like to participate in the 100 Happy Days Challenge, register on http://www.100happydays.com and leave me a comment with your instagram/twitter username or hashtag. As an incentive, if you complete the full 100 days, they will send you a little book full of your 100 happy moments. If you’re a sentimental sap like me, this will keep you inspired, optimistic and ensure you keep learning something new about yourself every single day.
