This Irish girl has been thinking a lot about life lately – past, present and future. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, there are a lot of things I am grateful for. So let’s pretend that we’re all sitting around a giant table, with a feast of turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cornbread, mashed potatoes, gravy, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie (American’s like their pie…) before us. The wine is flowing, the fire is lighting, everyone is laughing and smiling. It’s time. I’ll go first shall I?! Ok!
I’m thankful for my family and friends who show me unbelievable support and love every day.
I’m thankful for my friends who keep me up to date with all the happenings and gossip from home while I am living abroad so I don’t feel forgotten!
I’m thankful for my crazy classmates who’ve made these last 14 months so memorable and rewarding.
I’m thankful for crisp, dry Autumn days and warm woollen mittens.
I’m thankful for strangers who return my smile.
I’m thankful for the little acts of kindness that have been shown to me lately from the most unlikely people.
I’m thankful for coffee on those difficult mornings and wine on those difficult nights!
I’m thankful for pyjama days.
And finally, I’m thankful for all my readers and new friends I’ve made since starting the NaBloPoMo challenge. I can’t believe there are only two days left! Thank you for all the encouraging comments, messages and emails. You guys always make me smile!
Wishing all my American family and friends a very Happy Thanksgiving. What are you thankful for today?
