If It’s Worth Doing, It’s Worth Overdoing!

I like things in excess. Sometimes to the point of obsession. I am a huge advocate of binge watching TV shows and eating that entire tub of ice-cream in one sitting. If I am interested in something, I will research it to death until I know everything I can know about that subject. Then I move onto the next thing! This addictive personality trait can be both good and bad. For instance, I recently discovered I love Zumba. I love it so much that I will get up at 7am before class to do a 50 minute workout. I will do this a good 6 days of the week. The problem is that my interest will soon lessen. It’s not that I start an activity with the intention of not following it through. Another new and shiny interest (probably with sparkles) just magically appears and steals me away.

This is why it is so important for me to undertake activities or projects with a clear end date or end goal. As I’ve found out over the years, this curiosity and love of exploration is a general trait of Geminis. While we perceive ourselves as adaptable, clever and energetic, it may come across as indecisive, restless and impulsive.

What is my newest interest, I hear you ask? Well, last week I discovered that I not only enjoy editing videos, but I’m not too shabby at it either. This day last week I spent the day filming, directing and editing a short visual piece to be incorporated into the presentation of a new concept to reduce the number of bikes surrounding Utrecht Central Station. This was presented to selected representatives of Movares. See below for the most impeccable acting skills you have ever seen. Gold star for anyone who can guess what my favourite scene to shoot was? There is most definitely an Oscar coming my way 🙂

Tot morgen,

    • And that’s only the tip of the iceberg! True Dutch people never rent their bikes, they own them! A city bike is basically their cheap ‘banger’ bike that they only use if they are going into town, to the station etc. It’s the one they can leave parked anywhere and not be upset if it is stolen or damaged! Most own at least 3 bikes, each one has a different purpose. I just love the culture and mentality here!
